Flaine Resort
Located in the Haute Savoie region and nestling at the summit of one of the world's largest ski areas, Flaine is a 'ski-in, ski-out' resort, with a pedestrian-only centre. The ski resort was designed by the renowned architect Marcel Breuer and is spread over 5 levels (Flaine Front de neige at 1500 metres, Flaine Forum at 1600 metres, Flaine Forêt at 1700 metres, Flaine Montsoleil at 1750 metres and the Hameau de Flaine at 1800 metres). With its listed monuments and works of art displayed throughout the resort, Flaine is a veritable open-air museum. Shops, leisure activities, access to the slopes... everything is within easy reach of your accommodation, for a holiday that's as practical as it is enjoyable.
Skiing in Flaine
The Grand Massif is one of France's largest ski areas, linking the ski resorts of Flaine, Samoens, Les Carroz d'Arrache, Sixt Fer à Cheval and Morillon, and offering 265 kilometres of pistes accessible to all levels of skier and snowboarder. Its geographical position, facing Mont Blanc, and its altitude guarantee exceptional panoramic views and snow cover. Designed for the enjoyment of all skiers, whether experienced or beginner, the Grand Massif ski area boasts 144 interconnected marked runs (17 blue, 60 green, 53 red and 14 black), with a total vertical drop of an impressive 1,800 metres (800 metres for the famous Combe de Gers) and kilometres of runs inviting you to explore pristine areas as well as natural ski itineraries, vertiginous slopes or gentle curves... Cross-country skiers can take advantage of the Nordic ski area, the highest and snowiest in the Alps, at the Col de Pierre Carrée at an altitude of 1844 metres. There are also 5 kilometres of groomed and signposted trails for snowshoeing and walking. Areas dedicated to freestyle and freeride invite fans of new sports to enjoy themselves. Discover the "ZE Forest" fun area on the red Diable piste, featuring slalom, banked, whoops and an original forest trail.
