Skiing in Montgenèvre
Located on the Italian border, the ski resort of Montgenèvre is linked to the largest international ski area, La Voie Lactée (or Vialattea), with over 400 kilometres of pistes. Stretching from an altitude of 1860 to 2700 metres, it boasts top-quality snow cover and unbeatable views, with 209 runs (8 green runs, 50 blue runs, 112 red runs and 39 black runs). The Montgenèvre ski area invites you to enjoy all forms of winter sports: downhill skiing, Nordic skiing (two sites and more than 80 kilometres of cross-country trails), new winter sports (a snowpark in the Gondrans sector, with a fun trail, and a boardercross at Chalvet), telemark skiing... There are routes for beginners and expert skiers alike.
Activities in Montgenèvre
Want to do something other than skiing? Montgenèvre also welcomes you as a pedestrian on various signposted routes, to help you discover the wide open spaces designed by the Col de Montgenèvre. The Montgenèvre ice rink is located in the heart of the village on the snow front, and invites young and old alike to skate on natural ice in the open air. Every day after the slopes close, you can go on a snowmobile excursion, either as a passenger or as a driver, depending on your preferences. Want to admire the mountain from a unique vantage point? Treat yourself to an unforgettable hot-air balloon flight, departing from the plain in the village of Les Alberts. Finally, during the winter sports season, the resort offers a wide range of sporting and cultural events, entertainment and shows to add to Montgenèvre's friendly atmosphere.
