With their ski pass, skiers have easy access to the blue, red and black runs thanks to the many modern lift and cableway facilities. The Schladming ski area offers ideal conditions for beginners, experienced skiers and professionals alike. The Schladming ski area, located in the Schladminger Tauern massif, stretches from 640 to around 2996 metres above sea level. As a result, it has the biggest vertical drop of any ski area. Thanks to its guaranteed snow cover, Schladming's 35 slopes are perfect for alpine skiing, carving, freeriding, snowboarding and cross-country skiing. Beginners can prepare to hit the slopes by taking lessons at one of Schladming's ski schools. The local mountain in the Schladming ski area is Planai. If you're looking for something a little out of the ordinary, you can take part in ski yoga or try the sound trail. Along this 600-metre-long run, you are accompanied by musical sounds from a high-tech installation. The Crosspark Reiteralm also offers a number of challenges along the way. The last station at the end of the course is the so-called "Almhüttensprung" (alpine hut jump). Two funparks, one on the Planneralm alp and the other on the Planai, offer plenty of space for action, freestyle and cool tricks on skis. Night skiing on the Hochwurzen provides a romantic backdrop. It's possible every day on a 3-kilometre slope. And in the Schladming ski area, of course, you can hire the ski and snowboard equipment you need in one of our Skimium shops.

Away from the slopes, there's also plenty to do after skiing. For example, you can spend time in Schladming's lively pedestrian zone. As well as offering plenty of shopping opportunities, this offers a meeting point for locals and visitors alike. And on Friday mornings, you can visit the local farmers' market to sample and buy regional specialities. You can also relax at the GrimmingTherme Schladming-Dachstein. You can rest your tired muscles and recharge your batteries for your next adventure on the slopes. You can also meet up with friends in one of the après-ski bars and ski huts. There are at least 98 ski huts in the Schladming and Dachstein ski area! For those wishing to explore the Styrian region on foot after skiing or on a non-skiing day, the many winter hiking trails offer plenty of opportunities. There are around 300 kilometres of hiking trails that are also cleared in winter.
